Network Administrator

A Network Administrator manages and maintains an organization’s computer networks. They ensure that network systems run smoothly and efficiently, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and internet systems. 

Their role is crucial in facilitating communication and data sharing within a company.

Network Administrators perform various tasks, including setting up and configuring network hardware and software, monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing security measures to protect the network from threats. 

They also manage user accounts, maintain documentation, and may provide support and training to staff regarding network-related issues.

• Manage and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal connectivity and functionality.
• Configure and install network hardware and software according to organizational needs.
• Implement and enforce network security protocols to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.
• Conduct regular system backups and ensure data integrity and disaster recovery procedures are in place.
• Update and patch network systems to safeguard against vulnerabilities and improve performance.
• Provide technical support and training to staff regarding network-related issues and best practices.
• Plan and design network configurations to accommodate future growth and technological advancements.

• Proficiency in network hardware and software, as well as experience with operating systems (Windows, Linux).

• Knowledge of cybersecurity practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve network issues efficiently.
• Experience with network monitoring tools to analyze performance and identify bottlenecks.
• Ability to configure and manage network devices and services, ensuring proper connectivity and security.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and provide user support effectively.
• Experience in managing network-related projects, including planning, implementation, and documentation.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco Certified Network Associate [CCNA], CompTIA Network+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional [CISSP])
