Chief Information Security Officer

A Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is a senior-level executive responsible for establishing and maintaining the enterprise vision, strategy, and program to ensure adequate protection of information assets and technologies. 

The CISO directs staff in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining organizational processes to reduce information and information technology (IT) risks. 

They respond to incidents, establish appropriate standards and controls, manage security technologies, and direct the establishment and implementation of policies and procedures.

The CISO oversees and coordinates security efforts across the company. That includes information technology, human resources, communications, legal, facilities management, and other groups to identify security initiatives and standards. 

They ensure security programs comply with relevant laws, regulations, and policies to minimize or eliminate risk and audit findings. The CISO also designs and implements security strategies and effective security programs to protect the organization from security breaches and cyber-attacks.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent certification.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of security architecture, networks, and systems.
• Experience in regulatory compliance and data privacy laws.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
